Dr. Gerlinde Ehni-Snyder (still known to many as Dr. Ehni) received her BA in languages from the University of New Mexico in 1972. She relocated to Durango, Colorado, where she found employment in a dental office and received on-the-job training.

Dr. Ehni SyderBecause she became increasingly interested in the field of dentistry, she went back to school at Fort Lewis College to complete her requirements for dental school. After graduating from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry with her DDS in 1984, Dr. Ehni completed a hospital based residency program at University Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

In 1985 the opportunity presented itself to move back to southwest Colorado. She became an associate in a private practice in Pagosa Springs for a short time, followed by an opportunity to serve as a Public Health Service commissioned officer for six years, commuting south to manage the dental program in Dulce, New Mexico.

In August of 1992, Dr. Ehni opened her current private practice in Pagosa Springs. She finds her practice and the special people she is privileged to meet a gift in her life.

Dr. Ehni Snyder and her husband, Sam, love their animal children. She also enjoys gardening, reading, and spending as much time off as possible in the outdoors surrounded by the beautiful San Juan Mountains; but most of all, appreciates the uniqueness and community spirit in Pagosa Springs!
